New Overhaul Version is Live!


In anticipation for the in-progress Steam build of the game, I've finished the big graphic and sound overhaul I mentioned in the previous blog, so I figured I'd go ahead and make it live here :D If you missed the last blog, the short version is that I'm working to put Luxaren Allure on Steam but had to replace a good deal of graphics and sounds. To be more specific, here are the changes since the last build:

  • Most of the icons, some sounds and some animations have been replaced to remove assets from other games.
  • Some bosses drop a little more money, and various treasure chests with cash have been added, to make shopping a little easier.
  • Slight visual tweaks, such as buildings have proper roofs when outdoors, etc
  • A couple of early scenes have had their dialog tweaked to be more in line with the rest of the game.
  • A short new scene with Darkloft has been added if you rest at the rest stop between Erdengard and Parvian.
  • The Final Dungeon is a little bit shorter with a few less encounters. The warp point goes both ways instead of only bringing you back to the start of the dungeon.

A note about moving save files over to this version, it should work fine, though if you move a save file from the old Final Dungeon to this version, it will most likely still work, but you'll still experience the old Final Dungeon rather than the new version.

EDIT: Ooops I just noticed I forgot one of the new roof assets. Okay, fixed it and uploaded!
